AIIMS Delhi

Clinical exposure you cannot buy

The patient load means you see conditions in your second year that others read about in textbooks. Fees are nominal for a government institute. Be prepared for long duty hours and limited personal time.

IIT Bombay

Unmatched peer group and research access

The academic rigour is intense but the exposure is worth it. Labs stay open through the night, professors take undergraduate research seriously, and the placement season brings in product companies from day one. Hostel infrastructure is showing its age in a few wings.

Case method changes how you think

Ninety percent of learning happens in cold calls and study groups. The alumni network opens doors long after you graduate. Fees are steep, but the average package more than covers the loan within two years.

SRCC

Best value for money in commerce

Annual fees under ₹40,000 with recruiters like Deloitte and Bain on campus. Societies run like small companies and teach more than some courses. Infrastructure is functional rather than fancy.

Practice School is the real differentiator

Two semesters of paid industry work before graduating gave me a head start over campus-only peers. No attendance policy means you own your schedule. Pilani town is remote, so plan your travel around the semester breaks.

VIT Vellore

Huge placement drive, big-batch trade-offs

Over 900 recruiters visit each year, so almost everyone with decent CGPA gets an offer. Class sizes are large and faculty attention varies by department. FFCS lets you build your own timetable, which is a genuine plus.

NLSIU

Moots, journals and a demanding trimester system

The trimester calendar keeps the pressure constant but you finish with four moots and two publications. Recruitment from tier-one law firms is consistent. Campus is compact — do not expect sprawling grounds.

TU Munich

Near-zero tuition, high academic bar

Semester contribution is under €200, so total cost is mostly living expenses. Exams are unforgiving and German language helps for working-student roles. Automotive and semiconductor recruiting in Munich is excellent.

NID Ahmedabad

Studio culture with real workshop access

Metal, wood, ceramics and digital fabrication labs are all open to students with minimal red tape. Faculty come from practice, not just academia. Documentation workload is heavy, so pick your electives carefully.

Great co-op options, plan your budget carefully

The co-op stream got me eight months of paid work at a fintech before graduating. Vancouver and Toronto rents are high, so factor in living costs beyond tuition. Career centre support for international students is genuinely useful.
